Builders without QR code

Builders without QR code are fined by Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRera). MahaRera mandates builders to include a QR code for each project in their promotional documents, ensuring transparency. Penalties for non-compliance can range up to 5% of the project cost. The QR code allows buyers to access essential project details by scanning, including project sanction, dimensions, land title, encumbrance status, completion date, and booking numbers. This initiative, effective from August 1, simplifies compliance for builders and enhances user-friendly access to project information.

Sanjay Bhimanwar, Deputy Secretary and Head of Rera’s Nagpur office, notes that the penalty depends on the severity of the lapse. Every promotional document must feature a QR code, covering a wide range of materials related to real estate projects. The move, supported by CREDAI, aims to facilitate easy access to project details for both builders and buyers
