New City – Third Mumbai, The Maharashtra government approves building New City – Third Mumbai for improved housing, infrastructure, and transport in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). The new city, centered around Navi Mumbai International Airport, connects to Mumbai via Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu (MTHL). Last week, the state government greenlit this proposal. Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is set to reshape far ends of MMR, led by New Town Development Authority (NTDA). NTDA covers Ulwe, Pen, Panvel, Uran, Karjat, and surrounding regions, totaling 323 sq.kms. Around 200 villages, including 80-90 in Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA), will be part of NTDA
